Task 2: Reflection
After reading what we had to do for the task of this week, we were asked for doing an information map based on the article related to what TPACK is. In the first moment, almost nobody would know what exactly is and what it is for. We guess Linda taught us this to introduce her students in the world of technology and to be familiar with some advances it brings. When our group had to decide what exactly to do, it was a little bit difficult due to it is not something common to do in this degree. However, when we all knew the official idea of what we wanted to present, we worked as a family. This is what we have enjoyed the most so, we have come to the conclusion that, probably, it was one of the main things Linda wanted to show us; the necessity to collaborate and work as a real team. Nevertheless, it hasn’t been so easy as it seems, because of several problems that needed to be solved and we didn’t know how to do it.
As a result of doing this task, we are aware of the importance of exploring and introducing other types of activities in our way to teach our future students. Nowadays, we see how important is using the great variety of technological advances in transmitting some contents in an appropriate pedagogical way. That’s the aim of the TPACK framework.
We guess we have been asked for doing this to help us to carry out an initiation in this amazing world, in which we can see how the government is also involved, because of their attempts to achieve a more technological environment in the classrooms. It is also visible in society, since, as we studied in History of Education, some years ago, neither the teachers nor the students could enjoy the great amount of technological improvements that nowadays we are able to, so, as we can see, it is extremely helpful to become effective teachers.
To sum up, after doing our first piece of work together, we have been able to see that we have worked in a very organized way because of our great desires to become the future teachers we want. In fact, for now, we wouldn’t change anything, but it is important to observe how events unfold.
This has also been appreciable in the other groups. In our opinion, all the groups have done a wonderful job!
