Task 2: Reflection

After reading what we had to do for the task of this week, we were asked for doing an information map based on the article related to what TPACK is. In the first moment, almost nobody would know what exactly is and what it is for. We guess Linda taught us this to introduce her students in the world of technology and to be familiar with some advances it brings. When our group had to decide what exactly to do, it was a little bit difficult due to it is not something common to do in this degree. However, when we all knew the official idea of what we wanted to present, we worked as a family. This is what we have enjoyed the most so, we have come to the conclusion that, probably, it was one of the main things Linda wanted to show us; the necessity to collaborate and work as a real team. Nevertheless, it hasn’t been so easy as it seems, because of several problems that needed to be solved and we didn’t know how to do it. As a result of doing this task, we are aware of the importance of ...

Task 2: T-Pack

First of all we will mention the type of map we have chosen. We thought a mind map was the best option, since it is a powerful graphic technique which provides a universal key to unlock the potential of the brain. It can be applied to every aspect of life where improved learning and clearer thinking will enhance human performance. Our palette represents a  Buzan mind map  in which we have used a central image to connect the different ideas to the central one throughout curved branches and adding colours to be more creative.  We have chosen this type as it is a good way to catch the attention of our classmates and clearly explain what ‘’TPACK’’ is, in an interactive way. We also have been asked for defining what exactly  TPACK  is (a technology, a theory, a model, an animal, a poetry, an author, or even all of these...). We have answered that the TPACK framework is described as a complex interaction among three bodies of knowledge: content, pedagogy and ...

Task 2: Translator

Hi! I’m Andrea. As a translator, I have been asked to collect the five main terms of this week’s work. “TPACK” (1) has been the principal concept we have been working. We can define it as a complicated interaction between three different types of knowledge, which are crucial to understand the dynamics of the task. The technological knowledge refers to the ability to use the technological tools. The pedagogical one is related to the way of teaching as well as to the methods and procedures to act in the classroom. To complete this cycle, it is necessary to mention the content knowledge, that is, teachers’ wisdom about the subject matter. The interaction between these terms leads to the appearance of three new subdimensions: - The pedagogical content knowledge (2) emerges from the connection between pedagogy and content, and it can be defined as a way of teaching certain knowledge to the students (brainstorming). - The technological pedagogical know...

Task 2: Other Inspiring Blogs

Imagen
Hi there! Another duty this week’s journalist had to face was searching on the Internet other people’s blogs. Regarding our classmates’ blogs, we have chosen Universal teachers’. This is a group composed of Roberto, María José, Yassin, Mavi, Lola and Diego. Our decision was based on how detailed it is. Furthermore, we took into consideration the hard work there is behind those posts. This blog has inspired us a great deal, since it outstands the main topics of the activities carried out. Furthermore, having a look at it has not been hard. At least, not as other posts you are eager to finish reading. It is important to write about the quality of the posts, as they have an almost perfect level of English! http://universalteachers2018.blogspot.com.es/ Among the similarities with our own blog, we would highlight the fact of giving details when writing about the topics, such as TPACK . We believe that the more complete an essay is, the more possibilities there are to transpo...

Task 2: History of the group

Imagen
During the third week of the course, we had to face task 2, called  Exploring TPACK . First and foremost, Lovely teachers group got together on Monday and discussed the different topics that could be interesting and appealing so as to develop our understanding about this concept. https://youtu.be/nSF0NhWgKD0 After having several ideas in mind,  we got to the conclusion that a palette could be a great option to give shape to our information map. This was a kind of metaphor to reflect that teachers are like artists, whose task is ‘drawing’ children’s education. It could also be understood as a representation of creativity or a symbol connected to the Art subject taught at school. Later, we chose the way we were going to organize ourselves in order to work: although each of us had a specific role in the group, we decided to cooperate to perform several duties, such as the creation of our information map. This is why we divided the activities among us so tha...
