Task 1: Reflection

In our whole life as students, teachers have asked us to do numerous reflections; but the thing is that they have never explained to us what a reflection exactly consists of. After Linda's class, we realized that reflecting is not only about telling what happened, but it is also useful for being aware of our failures. Therefore, it allows us to make changes in our ways of acting in order to obtain more successful consequences in our decisions. Furthermore, we consider this class as a crucial one, not only as students, but also as future teachers. We would also like to highlight the similarity of this task with Dale's Pyramid, since the more involved and active you are in your learning, the better and for longer you will remember and master the content. Moreover, in our last day's reflection, it was also paramount the fact that we shared our reflections with our peers. If we just focus on our own ideas, we will never realize that there are "other colour...

Task 1: Story

Last Monday's School Organization and Educational Resources class was planned to start with the explanation of task 2. However, the teacher considered, after checking our self-regulation questionnaires, that it was so important to teach us how to make a wonderful reflection. This was mainly because we are sometimes asked to do something, but we do not actually know how to carry it out in an appropriate way. After Linda’s explanation, we were able to differentiate three types of reflections: a descriptive, a dialogic and a critic reflection. The following activity we had to do was thinking about a personal experience related to teaching somebody. Later, we were asked to write a reflection about it. Furthermore, our teacher collected the pieces of paper and gave them to other people so that we could assess somebody else’s task. Once a score was assigned, personal reflections were given back to their owners so that we could realize our mistakes and get to know what others belie...

Task 1: Conceptual Visions

Imagen
Good morning, We are here again to explain how our fist task was. It had three different steps: Firstly, we had to think of five ideas related to education. Then, we had to summarize these ideas in an only sentence. Finally we had to recreate images which represented those ideas and sentences. Here, you can see our different ideas, sentences and photos: 1. Butterfly effect: A little change in a given moment (especially in early years) can have a great impact on people’s development. 2. Montessori: No external rewards are given, learning is the real prize. 3. Dewey:  As a consequence of the world is ever-changing, students need to become information seekers who are able to apply what they have learned to current problems. 4.  Traditional vs. New school: In the traditional classroom, there used to be a power-submission teacher-student relationship, whereas in new schools, it  is  an attachment-equality one. 5.  Individual...
