Task 10: Translator

Hi everybody!! I’m Natalia and, this week, I am the translator. It is the second time I am the translator of my group,  but I also know that I’ll never be the translator again because... this is the last task! It is so sad to know that, but, well... I don’t want to be too sentimental so... Let’s start! As it is our last task, we had to relate the main things we have learned according to complexities,  connections… I could define the same concepts that we once defined, but it does not make much sense, so I’ll try to  define new concepts: Firstly, we could start defining what learning organization is. It is the organization where people are  ever-learners with shared commitment and objectives of continuous change and learning together. It  is a place where the beliefs, values and norms are supported to sustain learning. There, they give a  great importance to a “learning atmosphere”, “learning culture” or “learning climate”; and “...

Task 9: Translator

Hi there! It’s Bea and, this week, I play translator’s role. Thus, my duty is reflecting the five crucial points of the ninth task called Leadership styles : To begin with, leadership is considered a paramount aspect to mention. It is the ability to coordinate and guide a group in order to achieve a goal. There are four leadership profiles: - Authoritarian : the word that better represents these people is ‘control’, since subordinates’ autonomy is actually restricted. Affection and friendly atmospheres are absent in authoritarian contexts, as the real goal is objectivity and productivity. This kind of leaders give priority to loyalty, instead of merits or personal achievements. They use ‘forcing’ and manipulative methods to ensure rules are respected and objectives achieved. An example of this profile is Recess ' principal and the teacher who supervises the playground: HollowchiefTV (2012, April 14). Recess Episode 21 The Great Jungle Gym Standoff [Video file]. Ret...

Task 8: Translator

Hi, my name is Ángela and I am this week's translator. For this task, we have used Stop-motion format. This is a cinematographic technique whereby the camera is repeatedly stopped and started so as to give animated figures the impression of movement. With the previous technique, we have made a video about basics for a New Educational Law : the law in a State, country or city that specifically governs educational bodies, such as public and private schools and universities. The main basics we have representated in that video are: Universal access to education : is the ability of all people to have equal opportunities in education, regardless of their social class, gender, ethnicity background or physical and mental disabilities. Pedagogical autonomy  of the teaching and direction staff to develop a consensual educational project within the educational community, facilitating the regulation of economic management aspects that respond to their needs and projects. ...

Task 7.2: Translator

Good morning! I am Sara and today I will be Lovely Teachers group's translator. If you have read the previous posts, you already know what the translator has to do, but for those who are new, the translator's role is kind of simple. It involves choosing the five most important concepts that better define the task. For me, this is a pretty relevant task, because it requires summarizing in five words all the relevant aspects of the task. The first word I would choose would be connection . As everybody knows, for getting a good learning and teaching at school, first you need to establish a good relation with your students, or, in the case of being the student, with your teachers. Once this positive and responsive relationship is established, an effective learning environment where students feel safe and empowered to collaborate, ask questions and ask for help will be created. The absence of this connection would make learning difficult to happen. But... connections d...

Task 7.1: Translator

Hi everyone! This is Ana and I'm Task 7's translator. As a consequence, I have collected the five main terms which, in my opinion are the crucial ones: -Complexity theory:   Referring to schools, it basically describes the functioning of a whole system in which all of his components are connected between themselves, that is to say, each one of the elements has relation with the others to a greater or lesser extent. -Emerging knowledge:  It is referred to the knowledge that emerges through connections of the different parts within the educational system. It is useful in order to change of modify the already known information. -Randomness  It can be understood as the constant pressure in order to innovate or introduce significant changes in a complex system. -Deterministic order: On the contrary, it can be understood as the pressure so as to remain constantly the same. It is opposed to introduce variations or changes that could mo...

Task 6: Translator

Hi everyone!  I’m Elena and this week I am the translator so I’m going to explain you the most important concepts that we had worked during this week. - Photo novel: is a story, usually based on a film, consisting of chronological photographs  or film stills with dialogue enclosed in ballons, as in the style of a comic book. - Infography : a picture or diagram or a group of pictures or diagrams showing or explaining information.  - Cave art : They are painted drawings on cave walls or ceilings, mainly of prehistoric origin.  - Auca : a member of a group of indigenous people of western or southern South America.  -Modern comic: a stylized picture of an object representing a word, syllable, or sound, as found in ancient Egyptian and certain other writing systems.

Task 5: Translator

Hey there! I'm Natalia and today, in the Translator part of this task, I would like to highlight several key  concepts that in my opinion are crucial for this theme. First of all, we need to know what a   textbook is. We could consider it a book used for the study of a particular subject, that can be  also used to learn some contents and methods that can be useful for the specific subject (as I have previously said). It causes lots of discrepancies related to how useful and important they are. We could also stand out the term comfort , due to the fact that teachers feel really comfortable  and secure with textbooks. They don’t have to do a really hard work when they use them and  only guide the classes with the contents that are treated in them, without using a critical view of the contents. Related to some characteristics of textbooks, we could stand out the concept of publishers .  These publishers have a great relationship with textbooks...

Task 4: Translator

Imagen
Hi! I’m Irene, this week’s translator. :) In this task, we are working with: Cartographic projections and treasure hunts, for this reason I will choose five concepts related to this topic, and that in our opinion are the most important. Firstly, the Mercator projection (1) is known as a map projection created by Gerardus Mercator in 1569. In this type, the meridians are drawn parallel to each other in vertical lines; and the parallels of latitude are straight lines whose distance between each other increases with their distance from the Equator. Apart from that, we also find the Robinson projection (2). It is also a map projection, but, in this case, the poles are shown as lines instead of points. The purpose of Robinson is finding a good consensus on the problem of easily showing the entire globe in a flat image besides, making world map ‘’looking right’’, rather than measure precisely. On the other hand, we find the Azimuthal projection (3) which is another ...

Task 3: Translator

Hi there! As the translator of this week’s task Telling stories: free resources and visual presentations , I have to develop the five main ideas Lovely teachers ’ consider crucial. First of all, we want to highlight that Creative Commons License help us share our copyright works. There are six kinds of licenses regarding the way we want others make use of our creations. So, if we want others to have access to our work, with credits to us and the possibility to change it, but not to have monetary benefits, we would use an attribution-noncommercial licence, for instance. Secondly, a good presentation is t he one that reflects the main ideas of the work, replacing lots of writing by images, videos and other resources that catch the audience’s attention. Important steps that must be taken into account in order to carry out an appropriate presentation include: simplicity (concise ideas are better than giving loads of details that could lead to confusion) and care (visuals will ...
