Task 6: Journalist

Hey! My name is Sara and this week I will be the journalist of Lovely Teachers group.

This Monday Linda explained us what the sixth task, called Comic life, was about. For doing it, we had to make a brief where we named the 10 key concepts or ideas we have learned in the previous 5 tasks. This brief was not the same for every group, since we made a raffle to distribute all the different ways or techniques to make our comic. These techniques were: Cave Art activity, Hieroglyph, Before and after perspective, Photo–novel, Magazine covers, Superhero Comic, Auca, and Modern Comic.

After doing this raffle, we got photo-novel. This consists in a story, usually based on a film or TV episode, consisting of chronological photographs or film stills with dialogue enclosed in ballons, as in the style of a comic book.

The first thing we did was thinking about what concepts were appropriated to chose this work. Finally, we chose the following ideas: infographic, blogging, distortion, T-pack, creative common license, QR code...

Monday 12 march was not as hard as other weeks. In fact, it was such a great experience! We had fun most of the time we were working! Our star, Andrea, even climbed a tree! This was because she had to do lots of photos to represent what our group wanted to show in our photo-novel presentation.

After having took all the photos we needed, we chose an online program called Fotor, in order to join all of them and form our photo-novel.

On Wednesday, every group presented their works. Although our comic copies were not as incredible as others, our star’s presentation was perfect.

Currently, if we take a look back, we realize that this task was so useful, because it has allowed us to summarize the important things we have learned in the other 5 tasks. We have learned, not only general things, such as what T-pack is or the importance of using creative common licenses, but also useful aspects for our future as professional teachers. These things are, for example, the importance of being creative in everything you do, how important can be doing a good presentation or the importance of cooperating with all your group, even if this group is formed by 8 members. We believe that cooperative work has an important impact in all of us because it allow us to learn from each other.

Here I let you our work so that you can see how we finally did it:

In plus, I have also uploaded most of our classmates works so that you can see how great they did it. As you can see they were very creative. It is a pity you could not see how they performed!

Finally, as the journalist of my group, I have to comment two different blogs. We have chosen one that belongs to our classmates “Empty21” and another one that is called “Real Crazy Man”.

The second blog we have commented really inspired us. In this blog they tried to explain in a funny way how the different blood type people react when they get backbitten. This explanation was all made up with animations, what was related to this sixth task. Here I upload two photos:

In this first picture you can see how this article was done so that you can better understand the reason why we love it. Then, in the last picture, we show you the comment we have left on this blog.

Thanks for reading!
