Task 1: Conceptual Visions

Good morning,

We are here again to explain how our fist task was. It had three different steps:
Firstly, we had to think of five ideas related to education. Then, we had to summarize these ideas in an only sentence. Finally we had to recreate images which represented those ideas and sentences.
Here, you can see our different ideas, sentences and photos:
1. Butterfly effect: A little change in a given moment (especially in early years) can have a great impact on people’s development.
2. Montessori: No external rewards are given, learning is the real prize.
3. Dewey: As a consequence of the world is ever-changing, students need to become information seekers who are able to apply what they have learned to current problems.
4. Traditional vs. New school: In the traditional classroom, there used to be a power-submission teacher-student relationship, whereas in new schools, it is an attachment-equality one.
5. Individualized teaching: Individualized teaching consists of tailoring the explanation to students' needs and capabilities so that they can better understand.
In the classroom, we had to put the photographs on the wall and our classmates had to try to guess the original phrase of each image by writing in some post-its different words and ideas. We think that we did it well since their ideas were very similar to ours.
But the most important thing of this task is what it taught us, that is, when we become teachers, we will be examples to follow for children. So, it does not only matter what knowledge we transmit them, but also everything we reflect through our actions and decisions. Besides, we have learned what is ''conceptual photography'', a type of photography that illustrates an idea.

We hope you enjoyed this first post, and stay tuned if… you don’t want to miss the next one!!!
