Task 4: History of the group

Hi! I am Andrea and this week I have the role of journalist, so I am going to describe what we have done during this task.

Last Saturday we received the instructions provided by the teacher, and on Monday, she explained them to us. The objective was to differentiate between three types of projection maps (Robinson, Mercator and Azimuthal) and compare two countries according to them. Then, we had to decide what was the most suitable projection for us. Besides, we were asked to choose other distorting educational media since maps do not reflect the reality as it is actually. To sum up, we had to elaborate an example of a Treasure Hunt applying any Primary Education content and finally, relate our entire task with the slogan “Media are not neutral”.


So, we started to work on it, dividing the parts of the task between the members of the group. Firstly, we chose as countries Finland and Pakistan and later, we did a presentation including all the items. Later, we decided to create physical countries with different cards to compare them in a more attractive way. At last, we thought that it could be a wonderful idea to make a Kahoot for the Treasure Hunt example.
On Wednesday, we did our presentation trying to engage people in this adventure. Bea and Sara, our stars, did their best although they were very nervous (especially Bea). We also saw others’ performances, and we were very impressed because of their quality and originality.

At the end of the class, Linda gave us some feedback. She told us that although nervous are very common, we have to make an effort in order to catch people’s attention (moving, speaking loud and clear). Furthermore, the teacher encouraged us to improve our work everyday, taking into account the failures we have had previously, because the perfection does not exist.

Task 7.2: Reflection

Hi everyone!! I am here again to make a brilliant reflection about this week's task called Complexity & relationships . As you know, last week we worked Complexity of schools , but... what about connections and relationships in school? After reading the chapter that Linda, our teacher, published for us, we got some general ideas about it. But, we got a deeper understanding when we had to think of some dialogues for making five short plays. On the one hand, we thought about reflecting creative fiction situations which included the different connections and relationships. But, thinking deeper, we realized they are not fiction situations, but real ones. This is mainly because, in our daily lives as future teachers, we will probably have to get through most of these examples we have created. And... we believe there is not a better way to understand it than putting ourselves in some real teachers' shoes. Unfortunately, it was not possible to play our sketches on Wednesda...

Task 2: Reflection

After reading what we had to do for the task of this week, we were asked for doing an information map based on the article related to what TPACK is. In the first moment, almost nobody would know what exactly is and what it is for. We guess Linda taught us this to introduce her students in the world of technology and to be familiar with some advances it brings. When our group had to decide what exactly to do, it was a little bit difficult due to it is not something common to do in this degree. However, when we all knew the official idea of what we wanted to present, we worked as a family. This is what we have enjoyed the most so, we have come to the conclusion that, probably, it was one of the main things Linda wanted to show us; the necessity to collaborate and work as a real team.
